My client is one of the Top 10 Aussie ISPs. Listed on the NASDAQ, they have offices in Melbourne and overseas.  The Melbourne office is young and energetic, and a fun and casual atmosphere in a great city location. They offer ongoing training, free Internet access, life insurance, and a great staff lounge/kitchen/tv area. 

[the role] 
is a challenge - you will be responsible for development and maintenance of difference billing systems, database integration, configuration and performance tuning. The technology environment is Perl, SQL, C++ in a UNIX/Linux environment. Work in a development team and Liaise with other technical teams. Be a senior in the team to mentor others.

[you need] 
Commercial experience in Perl, SQL, C++, Oracle HTML/CGI and UNIX/Linux.
Commercial experience in object oriented programming.
To be familiar with web interfaces to see how the end-product looks and feels.
Ideally you will have billing experience.  You might already be in an ISP, or from telecommunications.
You like being thrown into a dynamic environment and have ideas and initiative to do things differently.
Good communication skills as you will be a mentor to others in the team.

$$ - will pay up to $75K depending on experience
