Hello!
This is the Third YAPC::Europe 2011 Newsletter.
Thank you for being with us during the long period since the previous
newsletter. Today we've got an integral update of activities around
YAPC::Europe in Riga, and those are the main topic of today's
newsletter.
In this issue:
* Attendees statistics
* Speakers statistics
* Speaker training (brand new!)
* Teaching classes
* Discounts
* Accommodation
* New sponsors

ATTENDEES STATISTICS
On 17th March, the 100th attendee was registered on the conference
website. Today there are 127 registered people coming from 22
countries and 44 monger groups. Here is the list of counties, sorted
by the number of attendees: Germany, United Kingdom, Russia, Austria,
USA, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, Poland,
Croatia, France, Australia, Estonia, Italy, Belarus, Sweden, Israel,
Latvia, Hungary and Belgium.
If you don't see your country in the beginning of the list, it's time
to tell your friends and colleagues about the conference.

SPEAKERS STATISTICS
We've got 45 talk submissions right now. They cover a number of topics
of Modern Perl and include Jesse Vincent's "‎Perl 5.16 and Beyond‎"
and Matt S Trout's "State of the Velociraptor‎". The latter is
becoming yet another YAPC tradition.
If you'd like to give a talk or a lightning talk, please submit it
online: http://yapceurope.lv/ye2011/newtalk.
There will be a special branch of talks during the conference intended
for beginners: http://yapceurope.lv/ye2011/talks/#147. We invite
experienced speakers to give their own talk in that branch.
Among that, we are proud and happy to announce that Larry Wall attends
the conference.

SPEAKER TRAINING
This year we introduce a special event for the speakers: Speaker
Training. This is a half-a-day class for those who would like to give
a talk at YAPC it the most effective way. Our goal is not only to
select interestingly described talks, but also to have interesting,
expressive and charismatic speakers, attractive at both the theory and
the show.
Speaker Training will happen on Sunday, 14th August. The event is
free. To attend it you only need to become a speaker and tick a star
at the page http://yapceurope.lv/ye2011/talk/3267.
Speaker trainers are Damian Conway and Alex Kapranov.

TEACHING CLASSES
We present a list of teaching classes which take place before and
after the main YAPC::Europe days. The classes will be run by
experienced Perl stars: http://yapceurope.lv/ye2011/talks/#151.

Teaching classes will be held in conference rooms outside the venue,
but still inside the Old Town. There will be snacks, tea and coffee
available for the attendees. Classes are an extra option: you don't
need to attend the conference to attend the class, and vice versa. You
can buy a conference ticket online:
http://yapceurope.lv/ye2011/purchase.

DISCOUNTS
Let us remind that less than two weeks left before the Early Bird
price expires. Buy a ticket before 14th of April and save 20 Euro.
You can also save additional money if you attend more than one paid
training class. The registration for the second class saves you 10
Euro; for the third one — 30 Euro.

ACCOMMODATION
The YAPC attendees tend to stay close to each other. In Riga it is
very easy if you choose a hotel in the Old Town (called Vecriga in
Latvian). Visit our page http://hotels.yapceurope.lv to find a hotel
close to the venue. Having the hotel booked, please include yourself
into the wiki list "Who Stays Where":
