I've known him for years and is one if those rare recruiters that focuses on quality over quantity. <a href="mailto:mbourdon@csi4jobs.com" target="_blank">mbourdon@csi4jobs.com</a></span></font><div>

<div><br></div><div>There are a lot of Perl shops in the LA area and I've worked for several of them. I don't think any of them would turn down a bright candidate, even a beginner. Most people are on top of things enough to know that someone who can learn fast, has the right attitude, and who's chemistry is a fit can often be more valuable than a thick resume.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Off the top of my head I'd suggest you reach out to Rent.com, Campus Explorer, ZipRecruiter, ValueClick Media, and Yellow Bot. There are many others. Those recruiters I mentioned have further contacts.<span></span></div>

<div dir="ltr">NOTE - I've already sent an email on this topic to sanfrancisco-pm, so if you're on that list - apologies, and read no further.<br><br>===<br><br>I'm looking for people's advice [1] on finding a job on the West coast for a Perl beginner[2].<br>
<br>Here's the deal: I'm teaching Perl (online) and one of my students lives a long way from any Perl shop, but he'll happily relocate to the West coast if that will get him a Perl job. If there's a company which would consider taking on a beginner, I'd happy to provide an honest appraisal of his skill set. So my questions:<br>
<br> * Are there any companies open to taking on beginner developers?<br> * Are there any recruitment agents who specialise in Perl and would go the extra mile to find a placement for a newbie?<br><br>Advice and opinions are what I'd like, and if you're a company or recruitment agent who's interested you're welcome to email me off list.<br>
