It’s an exciting opportunity to help evolve our product with next-generation web technologies. The successful candidate will be working with other Developers, Systems Engineers, as well as Product Managers, Designers, and Quality Assurance professionals. </FONT></P>
<P><B><FONT FACE="Georgia">Responsibilities:</FONT></B>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Design & implementation of complicated projects involving the architecture and development of code</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Review preexisting complex code and provide recommendations to improve performance & maintainability</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Write new code and perform enhancements that integrate with old code</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Add new functionality to existing code</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Fix problematic code</FONT>
</P>
<P><B><FONT FACE="Georgia">Requirements:</FONT></B>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Minimum 3+ years complex application development experience in Perl</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Solid understanding of common design patterns</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Proficiency with Perl objects and object-oriented concepts</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Development experience with Apache and mod_perl</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* SQL inserting, updating, retrieving, and optimization skills</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Experience debugging complex code issues</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Must be able to asses large complex code base quickly and accurately</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Must be a team player</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and designs to non-developers</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Experience with version control, ideally CVS or Subversion</FONT>
</P>
<P><B><FONT FACE="Georgia">Preferences:</FONT></B>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Community involvement with CPAN, Apache, mod_perl, or other open source projects</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Experience building dynamic web applications with Javascript and Ajax</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Data design and modeling</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Experience with other languages such as C/C++, Lisp, Ruby, or Python</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Knowledge of agile methodologies such as Test Driven Development or Scrum</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Familiarity with development best practices, such as code reviews and unit testing</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Experience developing international sites is a plus</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Georgia">* Experience with MySQL and Oracle</FONT>
