Point Him to the Bar. Message-ID: <50008FA3.8060709@verizon.net> Hello, I am Jim Keenan from Brooklyn, NY and ny.pm. A sudden change of vacation plans will have me passing through Los Angeles during the coming week. I'd be interested in finding a location where I'd have a wide selection of draft beers on Thursday or Friday (July 19 or 20) of this coming week. And if I could find the company of some L.A. Perlmongers, all the better! I realize many people are likely to be either on summer vacation or at OSCON or both. But if you'd like to have an after-work social gathering on one of those dates (Thursday perhaps a bit better), please email me. I will have wheels so anyplace south of the Valley, north of Long Beach and west of downtown would probably be fine. Thank you very much. I looked up those provided here and also searched for the joints named in other posts. Other things being equal, I'd prefer "Noise Level: Average" to "Noise Level: Loud". That would make Steingarten, Rush Street Culver City and the Daily Pint preferable to Father's Office. But I concede that those Yelp reviews can be misleading. I will pencil in Thursday 6:00-7:00 as a start time for an event in either Santa Monica, Culver City or West LA. If there's anyone in la.pm who is the PiCoESM (Person in Charge of Emergency Social Meetings) who wants to contact me off list to figure out arrangements, that would be good. I'll be flying into LAX tomorrow but be up the coast until, probably Thursday morning. I look forward to meeting you all! Thank you very much.
