Hrm. Many public beaches prohibit fire, or require a permit to do that type
of thing. If we can find one that provides those outdoor bbq grill-type
things that are seen in public parks sometimes, we'll probably be set.

(This sounds like a lot of fun, but is also beginning to sound like it will
require considerable organization ...)

Depends on when, mainly. 101 from my place (@ 134/170/101 junction) to Kanan
Rd. and then over the hill takes me about 45 min generally. So that hour
figure does seem pretty accurate. But then it takes a good 40 minutes to get
to Venice from your place too, so ... :)
