We have a few new people so hopefully there will be a bunch of new faces also :) I'll be going to San Diego for the next few days so if you have any questions email me today (Tuesday) so I can get back to you today before I leave tomorrow. And of course I'll be back for the meeting at Starbucks Over and out, -Sam -- Samy Kamkar -- (877) 383-4980 -- CommPort5@LucidX.com LucidX.com / pdump.org / LA.pm.org From CommPort5 at LucidX.com Mon Apr 23 18:02:03 2001 From: CommPort5 at LucidX.com (Samy Kamkar [CommPort5]) Date: Wed Aug 4 00:01:58 2004 Subject: LA.pm: meetings, books, etc Message-ID: <3AE4B46B.1F7AE89A@LucidX.com> Well everyone, it looks as if we're going to get 'Perl Debugged' from Pearson Education and Addison-Wesley Higher Education. This is the 2nd Addison-Wesley book we've gotten ('Perl Debugged' and 'Network Programming with Perl'). They were out of stock for this one so hopefully they'll send it soon. I'll bring it to the next meeting or two once I get it. I'll probably set up some type of books section on the page, also and we can have recomendations of books to get, info on them, etc.. I'll also be setting up a meeting soon, if anyone reccomends a nice Starbucks hopefully closer to everyone we can set it up there. I'll be looking in a few places like Pasadena, Hollywood, etc. and maybe I can get some suggestions. I'll also be starting a 'jobs section' on the page so people can post job offerings, resumes, find jobs, etc (like a mini-monster/guru.com). Anyone interested on working on this project, also? :) Get back to me if you are interested or just have any questions or anything. -- Samy Kamkar -- (877) 383-4980 -- CommPort5@LucidX.com LucidX.com / pdump.org / LA.pm.org From ask at valueclick.com Mon Apr 23 18:20:26 2001 From: ask at valueclick.com (Ask Bjoern Hansen) Date: Wed Aug 4 00:01:58 2004 Subject: LA.pm: meetings, books, etc In-Reply-To: <3AE4B46B.1F7AE89A@LucidX.com> Message-ID: On Mon, 23 Apr 2001, Samy Kamkar [CommPort5] wrote: > I'll also be starting a 'jobs section' on the page so people can post > job offerings, resumes, find jobs, etc (like a mini-monster/guru.com). > Anyone interested on working on this project, also? :) jobs.perl.org should be ready Really Soon Now. - ask -- ask bjoern hansen, http://ask.netcetera.dk/ !try; do(); more than 70M impressions per day, http://valueclick.com From CommPort5 at LucidX.com Mon Apr 23 18:40:28 2001 From: CommPort5 at LucidX.com (Samy Kamkar [CommPort5]) Date: Wed Aug 4 00:01:58 2004 Subject: LA.pm: meetings, books, etc References: Message-ID: <3AE4BD6C.5AEA7747@LucidX.com> Ask Bjoern Hansen wrote: > > On Mon, 23 Apr 2001, Samy Kamkar [CommPort5] wrote: > > > I'll also be starting a 'jobs section' on the page so people can post > > job offerings, resumes, find jobs, etc (like a mini-monster/guru.com). > > Anyone interested on working on this project, also? :) > > jobs.perl.org should be ready Really Soon Now. Yup, it used to be up a while ago also and I pointed people to it or might have been somewhere else but I still continue getting emails about it so it can't hurt to run maybe a little different one :) -- Samy Kamkar -- (877) 383-4980 -- CommPort5@LucidX.com LucidX.com / pdump.org / LA.pm.org From ask at valueclick.com Mon Apr 23 18:49:38 2001 From: ask at valueclick.com (Ask Bjoern Hansen) Date: Wed Aug 4 00:01:58 2004 Subject: LA.pm: meetings, books, etc In-Reply-To: <3AE4BD6C.5AEA7747@LucidX.com> Message-ID: On Mon, 23 Apr 2001, Samy Kamkar [CommPort5] wrote: > > > I'll also be starting a 'jobs section' on the page so people can post > > > job offerings, resumes, find jobs, etc (like a mini-monster/guru.com). > > > Anyone interested on working on this project, also? :) > > > > jobs.perl.org should be ready Really Soon Now. > > Yup, it used to be up a while ago also and I pointed people to it or > might have been somewhere else but I still continue getting emails about > it so it can't hurt to run maybe a little different one :) :-) what I really meant to point out was that we ought to get the site now living at http://jobs.perl.org:8310/ ready to go live soonish. - ask -- ask bjoern hansen, http://ask.netcetera.dk/ !try; do(); more than 70M impressions per day, http://valueclick.com From disordr at inntra.net Mon Apr 23 19:30:06 2001 From: disordr at inntra.net (Philip) Date: Wed Aug 4 00:01:58 2004 Subject: LA.pm: meetings, books, etc In-Reply-To: <3AE4B46B.1F7AE89A@LucidX.com> Message-ID: I'd prefer the hollywood location; I'll make it to the next one. Only problem with Roscoe's is that we need to get a head count of however many people are going to come so as long as we know an aproxamite number of people that are coming, it'll be fine. -- Samy Kamkar -- (877) 383-4980 -- CommPort5@LucidX.com LucidX.com / pdump.org / LA.pm.org From asudarikov at xceed.com Tue Apr 24 11:51:11 2001 From: asudarikov at xceed.com (Arkadiy Sudarikov) Date: Wed Aug 4 00:01:59 2004 Subject: LA.pm: meetings, books, etc Message-ID: Count my head. Get to the 'meetings, books, etc' thread :) So we already had that meeting about a week ago, but another will come up soon. Hopefully I'll be doing a lot of work on the webpage soon (any web people interested in helpin out, I'm not 'too' much of a web person as you might be able to tell from the page, still have a lot of cgi and stuff to add and make?). Also, I'll be sponsor-hunting soon to see if any companies are interested in sponsoring LAPM in any way. Hopefully we can find some, I'll start with that soon also -- Samy Kamkar -- (877) 383-4980 -- CommPort5@LucidX.com LucidX.com / pdump.org / LA.pm.org
