At the very least, they have some email addresses to send stuff to. I'd like to invite Jon Orwant to come speak to us also, since he's a cool guy, and I've spoken with him a number of times, both via email and in person. Jon is the editor of The Perl Journal. If you don't get TPJ, you should. He was also the MC of the Perl Quiz Show, which was just hilarious. I'm not sure what we would ask him to speak about, but he's an educator at heart, and I'm sure that he'd be willing to come up with something. And, finally, I've been poking around the other PM web sites, and there is quite a spread of what they see as their mission - all the way from very structured educational groups to purely social gatherings, where Perl might or might not be mentioned. I suspect that we'll wander around for a while before we decide what we're doing. We're off to a good start. We talked about Perl at our first meeting! He flies through Cincinnati often (he says) and has a standing offer with us to arrange a visit. We just need to pick a rough date and coordinate with his secretary. patrick --- Patrick S. Our next meeting is, I believe, tentatively scheduled for April 14th, 12:30pm, at Jalapenos on South Broadway. Tell all your Perl Mongering friends and relations. As we get closer to the date, we need to know how many folks will be coming so that we can reserve a table big enough. If anyone has any time or gastro-intestinal reasons for a rescheduling or relocation, please speak up. Apologies for the delay in my reply -- I've been swamped. My travel schedule is pretty packed, and unfortunately doesn't include anywhere near Kentucky -- Pittsburgh and DC is as close as I get. But if I ever do end up in your neck of the woods, I'll be sure to pay the Lexington Mongers a visit.
