Ahhh... but when I cheat by -programming- I learn a lot.

If I sat at home filling out Sudoku by feeding it into the
computer, that would be pointless.  I still solve them with my
brain, but I actually figured out a lot about how to solve them
by programming something to do it for me.

And now you have spoiled five minutes or so of my talk.  You are
required to fill that five minutes.
