This puts our next meeting on Tuesday the 8th. I've had a few more folks promise to attend, so our headcount may exceed the number of fingers on one hand. List traffic has been low, though, so no topics naturally spring to mind. If you have something you'd like to ask about or talk about, feel free to toss out suggestions now or Tuesday evening. As a reminder, we meet at Barley's in Shawnee at 7pm. It's near the corner of Midland and 435. We're typically in the back at one or two high-tops. If you can't find us, just ask the host(ess) for "Mr. Perl's table". See you then! -Andy PS - for those of you who are less than totally aware of your surroundings, please note that you probably don't have to work on Monday the 7th. Therefore, Tuesday the 8th may *feel like* a Monday. It's not, though, so don't forget to come to the meeting. Thanks again for giving it! I don't really care if the stuff you were describing is called "Technical Debt" or goes by some other name. I began actively working to get rid of it in all my projects and am glad I did. It "feels" like debt in that accumulating more of it is really easy and tempting and may temporarily buy me some speed or benefit, but I have to pay interest to it while doing new work or during maintenance. I like the analogy. I don't recall you striking that Hitler-esque pose, though! -Andy From amoore at mooresystems.com Fri Sep 4 17:53:50 2009 From: amoore at mooresystems.com (Andrew Moore) Date: Fri, 4 Sep 2009 19:53:50 -0500 Subject: [Kc] [KULUA] Python UG in town? I've actually been playing with Django quite a bit recebtly and would love the chance to talk to another pythoner about the significance of whitespace and laugh at sigils and such. If nothing else, it would give us a chance to catch up. It's been a while since our paths crossed. We host a casual meeting in the back of Barley's in Shawnee on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7pm. see http://kc.pm.org/ for more info. -Andy On Mon, Aug 31, 2009 at 4:58 PM, David Nicol wrote: > The initial organization of KCPM attempted to include Python mongers > as well, so you're welcome to direct ideas at that forum.
