Hey everyone, I received this e-mail today from R. Geoffrey Avery. He also mentioned it to me on the #yapc irc channel the other day. Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on it? I'll be out of town until Thursday, but will be trying to think about some ideas.

Jeremy

Subject: Announcing YAPC::NA::2007 at YAPC::Europe::2006

Hello people involved with YAPC::NA 2007,

I will be attending YAPC in Birmingham in a few weeks as will Kenneth
of Team Boston. I have asked Barbie and he says that they can set
aside some time just before the auction when the winning YAPC::NA can
make Lighting Talk size advertisement.

If Philadelphia wins Geoff will be in Birmingham and can make the presentation.

If Boston wins Kenneth will be in Birmingham. Would you be able to present?

If Houston wins it becomes a little more complicated as no one will
be in Birmingham. But if you guys put together a video that speaks
for itself or some slides we can get them presented. We have some
choices on presenting...

1) Jeremy presents remotely like Jim did during the YAPC in
Chicago. The presentation will probably be on Friday between 16:00
and 16:15 in the UK or about 10am in Houston
2) Geoff and Kenneth. This shows we are one big happy family again
now that the election is over. Fortunately none of us live in
Connecticut where candidates cannot be so bold.
3) Someone from TPF. Ovid, you are already making a TPF
presentation, would you be able to do this?
4) Anyone else in attendance
(http://www.birmingham2006.com/cgi-bin/yapc.pl?act=user-stats) that
will work for Houston and the TPF.

Do we have an idea of when the decision will be made? Will it be
possible, and should we even try, to keep it secret from most of the
world until the presentation in Birmingham?

So talk among yourselves and then we can let Barbie know what we want to do.
