Message-ID: <20030301170634.1478.qmail@web21206.mail.yahoo.com> All, I am currently writing up a resume.xml DTD. When I am finished. Once that is complete, I am also going to create at least one XSLT. I will post this on http://houston.pm.org. I really want to start doing something with the houston.pm.org website. This PM is stagnating, and I don't want it to. Kristofer. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! I'd really like to help promote Perl here in Houston. Or, at least gather resources for those of us that are here. G. To get to know each other a bit better, and perhaps set about some plans for making this .PM more active. I've not very much free time, but I'd be happy to assist in any way that I can. (XML isn't my specialty, alas.) Surely there are numerous PERL programmers here in town, seems there's but a small slice on here. !c C. If we want to meet on a regular basis, I suggest that we get in touch with HAL-PC, and see if we can use their facilities, and post a meeting notice in their magazine and on their website. http://www.hal-pc.org/ We may want to imitate the Houston Linux User Group, which doubles as the HAL-PC Linux Special Interest Group. http://hlug.org/ If we want to set up a web page, I can host it on my web server account at Hosting Matters. (I presume we don't need our own domain, and can just use the Houston.pm.org sub-domain.) -- Kevin Shaum -- kevin@shaum.com -- http://lazypundit.com/ From houston-admin at mail.pm.org Tue Mar 4 12:48:24 2003 From: houston-admin at mail.pm.org (houston-admin@mail.pm.org) Date: Mon Aug 2 21:30:42 2004 Subject: [HoustonTx.pm] HoustonTx.pm (houston.pm) Meetup In-Reply-To: <200303040858.15272.kevin@shaum.com> Message-ID: <20030304184824.98857.qmail@web21210.mail.yahoo.com> What platform (Windows/Linux/Solris) are you running Kevin? I don't have a fixed IP address at home, so I can't host it myself. (Also, given all the DoS attacks I hear about, I prefer having the security done by someone who, unlike me, knows what they're doing.) I use Movable Type (www.movabletype.org) to run a "blog" (web log) on my site; it works reliably, and is easier to set up and administer than Slash or PHP-Nuke. We might want to set up Houston.pm's web page as a blog. Is Houston.pm.org running on your own machine? I do keep a Linux system at home (Red Hat 8) with a web server on it (Apache) that I use for learning and experimentation. It's also my primary web browsing and email client. I'm guessing that's more than you wanted to know, probably? -- Kevin Shaum -- kevin@shaum.com -- http://lazypundit.com/ From houston-admin at mail.pm.org Wed Mar 5 12:12:20 2003 From: houston-admin at mail.pm.org (houston-admin@mail.pm.org) Date: Mon Aug 2 21:30:42 2004 Subject: [HoustonTx.pm] HoustonTx.pm (houston.pm) Meetup In-Reply-To: <200303050111.53682.kevin@shaum.com> Message-ID: <20030305181220.32138.qmail@web21209.mail.yahoo.com> >My web page is at Hosting Matters >(www.hostmatters.com); they run Linux and >Apache. (Also, given all the DoS attacks >I hear about, I prefer having the security done by >someone who, unlike me, knows what they're doing.) I looked at the web site and it looks good. One thing that I would require though is complete access rights to the WebServer configuration. Since I am certain that they won't do that, then I am going to have to have one in my home. All houston.pm.org website developers are going to have ssh access to the development machine. >I use Movable Type (www.movabletype.org) to run a >"blog" (web log) on my site; it works reliably, and is >easier to set up and administer than Slash or >PHP-Nuke. I will be buying a new Dell workstation and installing Red Hat 8 on it. >I'm guessing that's more than you wanted to know, >probably? Actually no, I love information. Another thing that I have thought of. I want to use HTML::Mason as much as possible. For any type of Data processing modules that we may need, I'd like to create our own perl modules to satisfy the requirements. Something like PM::Houston::Module etc. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Tax Center - forms, calculators, tips, more http://taxes.yahoo.com/
