i think that's the "catch admin requests" feature.  majordomo tries to
catch messages that look like they should be going to the admin rather
than the list, and sometimes it's a bit over zealous.  this feature can be
turned off though.

that's one is tougher.  i imagine people want to filter the mail.  one
easy way to do that is to filter on the To: line.  most major mail
packages have a way for you to do that, and procmail can help the unix
users who use other mailers.

you have your own conf file, and you can configre it in the normal
majordomo fashio (email) or through Majorcool.  see the PM FAQ for the
URL.
