From David.LANDGREN at oecd.org Fri Jun 25 09:18:51 1999 From: David.LANDGREN at oecd.org (David.LANDGREN@oecd.org) Date: Thu Aug 5 00:28:59 2004 Subject: Hacking Majordomo Message-ID: Is any-one else apart from me subscribed to this list? I've never seen any traffic on it. I have a question concerning Majordomo on happyfunball... I don't think the Web interface will let me change the following problems. 1. A number of people innocently put "help" in the subject field, however Majordomo thinks it should process the email, and bounces it to me. I wish it would stop doing that. 2. A number of people have asked whether each message in the mailing list could have a prefix, e.g. [ppm] Can I do this myself i.e., do I have my own conf file? I guess this is going to fall in brian's lap... thanks in advance, brian! You can pretty much configure Majordomo any way you want ... don't know about via the web interface though ... I've never used it. I used "Managing Mailing Lists" by Alan Schwartz (O'Reilly & Associates, Inc.) as a reference, and haven't had any problems configuring Majordomo through the normal email directives. A number of people have asked whether each message in the mailing list > could have a prefix, e.g. [ppm] that's one is tougher. i imagine people want to filter the mail. one easy way to do that is to filter on the To: line. most major mail packages have a way for you to do that, and procmail can help the unix users who use other mailers. > Can I do this myself i.e., do I have my own conf file? you have your own conf file, and you can configre it in the normal majordomo fashio (email) or through Majorcool. see the PM FAQ for the URL. -- brian d foy Director of Technology, Smith Renaud, Inc. 875 Avenue of the Americas, 2510, New York, NY 10001 V: (212) 239-8985 From elaine at cts.wustl.edu Mon Jun 28 14:53:10 1999 From: elaine at cts.wustl.edu (elaine ashton) Date: Thu Aug 5 00:28:59 2004 Subject: Hacking Majordomo In-Reply-To: Message-ID: > Is any-one else apart from me subscribed to this list?
