FW: [GRLUG] Apr14 meeting cfengine

Maletic, Tim Tim.Maletic at priority-health.com

Dear GR.pm,

I've recently learned of the existence of the Grand Rapids Linux User's
Group, and will be giving a talk there on host-security-via-cfengine on
April 14th. If you're interested in the topic, or Linux, and have no plans
for noontime the Saturday before Easter, come on out!

-Tim

Subject: [GRLUG] Apr14 meeting cfengine

GRLUGGERS,

This coming April 14th there will be a meeting at the Keller Engineering
Building in downtown Grand Rapids @noon. Directions to the meeting can be
found at the grlug homepage (www.grlug.org).

Tim Maletic will present GNU's cfengine, a topic that he will
be presenting at SANS2001 (www.sans.org) in mid-May. Among other things,
he will show us how to use the cfengine utility for site-wide host
security.

Cfengine, or the configuration engine is an agent/software robot and a
high level policy language for building expert systems to administrate and
configure large computer networks. Cfengine uses the idea of classes and a
primitive intelligence to define and automate the configuration and
maintenance of system state, for small to huge configurations. Cfengine is
designed to be a part of a computer immune system, and can be thought of
as a gaming agent.

Hope to see everyone there!

Sincerely, Jim Pharis
