GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Bill Day came to power today as president of
grand-rapids.pm.org in a bloodless coup. Matt Heusser has assumed
responsibilities as vice president. Joel Mulenberg the former head of
grand-rapids.pm.org contacted in his office in exile at priority-health.com was
quoted as saying "I'm just glad we were able to have a peaceful transition of
power". Paul Tjapkes the former vice president has denied having accepted
computer equipment for his part in the coup. Al Tobey was quoted as saying
"Lies, Lies, Lies". Steve Polling considered himself to humble to submit a
quote.

In all seriousness. Matt and I were elected by the quorum present at today's
meeting. I would like to thank Joel and Paul for their service over the last
year (or so). If I can do anywhere as near a good a job as Joel has done, I will
consider myself successful.

We discussed topics for future meetings.

Al Tobey is working on a presentation of POSIX - IPC stuff for the October
meeting

Because of the Holidays the November and December meetings may be combined.

Matt Heusser is working on a Perl.NET presentation for January.

Joel Mulenberg is working a more complete implementation of PerlBots for
presentation sometime in 2002.

I am currently activly seeking submissions for future presentations. Don't be
afraid that your presentation is either too advanced or too remedial.

Again I would like to thank Joel and Paul for their past service.
