I was very happy to see a large number of us at the last Edinburgh.pm social, and hope one day to have a similar amount of people for the technical meeting as well. It can't quite happen unless we have talks, though. As usual, I'm poking around to see if anybody is volunteering for any talks :) A 5-minute lightning talk is always welcome, of course. We may even have a lightning talk bingo if there are enough. Pints of beer for prizes. I'll bring some news regarding the Edinburgh Dynamic Languages conference, and possibly a talk about the SSH honeypot I've set up, along with some nice graphs. I look forward to seeing you next week on Thursday for our monthly meeting. Hi all, I have not been able to prepare the talk and will not be able to do so by Thursday; has anybody else got a technical talk to bring? So far nobody came forward so to my knowledge there will be no technical talks. Due to that, I would be inclined on cancelling the meeting as we have no technical talks. Would you be willing to meet anyway for an evening at the pub, or would you rather we skipped this month's meeting altogether? I quite like these: http://slides.html5rocks.com/ http://leaverou.me/ft2010/ But both appear to be custom/bespoke, and not based on any existing open source project. I'd prefer to avoid yak shaving here. Also, I'd like to be able to convert the slides into PDF or similar, and I'm sure I came across a tool a few years ago that would do these things, but I'm stuffed if I can remember what it is now. Anyway, what's hot in (html based) presentation software these days? Bonus points for anything that I can force to use my preferred font face, as I want to give Futura a spin. Typekit appears not to have that one, so I'm guessing I might have to buy it for my mac ...
