Write a progran in Perl, or in any language, even Icelandic which calculates the relevant dates and stores them in a a file of ical or CSV(MS Outlook format), and import them into the Google calendar. I created an event for every 5th Thursday in a Google calendar, and it shows up properly on this month, and 31 December. The problem appears to be with the web interface, but not Google calendar's ability to handle 5th Thursdays. So I'd suggest using Sunbird or a similar calendar program that can post directly to Google calendar.
