Do we have a venue yet? I'm up for it. I thought we'd found The Standing Order to be okay, on the one occasion we managed to meet -- everyone alright with it, or shall we meet somewhere else? Does anyone want to mail out to the EDLUG list, for wider coverage? Needs to be done before this time tomorrow to get people in for Wednesday. -- Charlie (In the "somewhere else" stakes, if we do decide to shift, I'd like to suggest the Guildford Arms. It's even closer to Waverly Station and has a better range of real ales. Only drawback is it's a bit smaller.) So having suggested a date I now can't make it. Sorry. Could make it next Wednesday though? I can make next Wednesday, or tomorrow. As some people seem to be having trouble, can I propose that we make it Wednesday 14th, in the Guilford Arms on West Register Street (which you can get to fairly easily by either the alleyway running along side the Royal Bank building from St Andrew's Square, or via the road running between the registry office and Burger King opposite the foot of North Bridge)? If that's okay with you all, I'll announce it to EDLUG and GLUUG. -- Charlie From rory at employees.org Tue Nov 6 08:23:14 2001 From: rory at employees.org (Rory Macdonald) Date: Thu Aug 5 00:01:00 2004 Subject: [edinburgh-pm] Anyone feeling social? I'll go with that. It's a good opportunity to try the Guildford Arms, which everyone I know seems to reckon is a good hostelry. See yizaw on the 14th... Julian. Message-ID: Hi, Was good to see so many people turn up this month. Charlie raised a couple of points. One was to set a rolling date for future meetings, and the other was to broaden the scope of the meetings to take in other scripting languages. On the first point I'm quite happy to meet, drink and chat on a regular basis. Anyone else of like mind should feel free to suggest days/dates which are good or bad for them. On the second point, I'm quite happy to discuss anything that people have on their minds. I know that Michael for example has managed to include a few more pages in his thesis thanks to the existence of Intercal. Michael may even be prepared to ramble for a minute or so about this at the next meeting :-) So how about it? Personally I prefer midweeks near the start of the month. 1st or 2nd Wednesday for example. Anyone else? Regards Rory
