Ashley,<br>
<br>
Hope you can make it next Tuesday. I actually use K9, so thanks for
your work there!<br>
<br>
If your heart was set on something tonight, there is this android
thing... <br>
I've got duties at the Makerspace meeting, but Steve and Stacy are
solid hackers so should be good. :) <br>

Hi everyone,<br>
<br>
I know lots of people feel warm & fuzzy inside from attending
the monthly meeting, but Stacy & I won't be there because we'll
be givng a presentation on Non-Native Android Development at the
Dallas Android Developers Group meeting in far north Dallas. (In
fact, this is why we never make the monthlies. ;)<br>
<br>
What is
Non-Native Android Development, you ask? Well, it's the use of
anything besides Android Java to write an app for the Android
platform. Most popular is JavaScript & HTML5, and there are
many other platforms such as Sencha, StackMob, Titanium, and so on.
We'll go over the benefits and drawbacks of several major
platforms, then discuss the HTML5/JScript/Phonegap combination in
more detail. So if you want more information, you should join us
tomorrow night! Several of you have talked to me about development,
so it'd be wonderful to see your bright, shining faces there. ;-)

currently work remote as an email migration engineer for a company
out of buffalo, ny, so far exclusively in perl. back in 1998 i
learned perl from a course called "unix, perl, and cgi" at TAMUCC
(/waves at Pm), and outside of that and the books "learning perl",
"programming perl", and "perl cookbook" i bought back then, never
really learned much more about perl until recently, and i'm
modernizing my knowledge. i was also doing a lot of work on the
android email client k-9 (in java) until i got my current job, but
i've been spending my free time recently refreshing and improving
my perl.<br>
