All PM mailing lists (or, at least, all of the ones hosted at pm.org) 
are run using Mailman. And Mailman is written is Python.

We try not to get too hung up about it. You wouldn't insist on your 
browser being written in Perl, or your operating system. So why worry 
about your mailing list manager.
