That's what I am saying, yeah.

Whether it is an improvement to GNU Emacs or to cperl-mode I cannot 
say; I have not had time recently to pore over either.

I've been on this for about a week now, though, and I can't contrive 
any construct that causes it to misbehave (yet).

Heredocs are not causing all code after them to be highlighted/indented 
as quoted matter either.  Nor are formats.
