The next meeting of the Detroit Perl Mongers / Dynamic Languages group
will be Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 at 7pm.

This month we will have 2 presentations.

* Ken Fox will be giving a lightning talk on NYTProf, the super awesome
code profiler for Perl. This talk is worth the trip alone!

* Todd Chapman will be presenting on Request Tracker (RT). RT is
implemented in Perl and highly customizable at many levels. Todd will be
showing the basics of installing RT and how to write code to make it do
your bidding.

Here's a bit about RT from http://www.bestpractical.com/rt.

RT is an enterprise-grade ticketing system which enables a group of
people to intelligently and efficiently manage tasks, issues, and
requests submitted by a community of users.

The RT platform has been under development since 1996, and is used
by systems administrators, customer support staffs, IT managers,
developers and marketing departments at thousands of sites around
the world.

Written in object-oriented Perl, RT is a high-level, portable,
platform
independent system that eases collaboration within organizations and
makes
it easy for them to take care of their customers.

RT is used by Fortune 100 companies, government agencies,
educational
    institutions, and development organizations worldwide.

The meeting location is One ePrize Drive, Pleasant Ridge, MI 48069. The
meeting starts at 7pm with food provided by ePrize. Please RSVP to
todd.chapman at eprize.com so we can be sure to order enough food for
everyone.
