Abstract
--------
How do you build the world's largest database?
What DBMS would you use?
What techniques and technologies are involved?

This talk walks through various "top ten" lists of the world's largest
databases, pointing out the software, hardware and configurations
employed. While certain aspects of these huge databases are unique
to their scale, one can also learn much about the databases you and I
support on a daily basis.

Speaker Bio
-----------
Howard Fosdick, long-time independent contractor in the Chicago area,
is both an Oracle-certified DBA and an IBM-certified DB2 DBA. He works
hands-on with the major database products under Unix, Linux and Windows.
Fosdick has written many technical articles and books and frequently
speaks at user groups and conferences.
