Holy crap! They teach perl in high school now? Awesome. Sounds like more fun
than Pascal.

I've never taught a perl class or a high school class, so take any of this
with a grain of salt, but I think following the Learning Perl book is a
pretty standard way to do it. brian d foy mentioned once that there were
classroom-oriented workbooks from O'Reilly for it, I think. Not sure where
to find more info on that.

Probably not affordable for a whole class, but might help structure a
course.

For what it's worth, if this is a student's first exposure to any
programming language, there are various opinions on whether Perl is a good
