BBC creates Perl On Rails

The British Broadcasting Corporation has long used Perl, but:

    For applications that run internally we use Ruby on Rails. Because
we enjoy using it, it's fast to develop with, straight forward to use
and because we use it (i.e. to reduce knowledge transfer and training
requirements) we decided to follow the same design patterns and coding
conventions used in Rails when we built our MVC framework. Yes that's
right we've built Perl on Rails.

Well konecne ozil server v toronte...

Bez tranzakcie: real    71m15.702s
S tranzakciou : real    71m10.582s
Pomocou COPY  : real    0m27.315s

Najviac casu je straveho na "ceste". Ci s tranzakciou, alebo bez pre
kazdy insert sa caka na potvrdenie z druhej strany. RTT do toronta je
cca 162ms co pri 26192 sql commandoch co sa posielalo robi:

26192*162/1000/60 = 70.71 minuty...
