Noch nicht. Aber an dem Tag, an dem meine Doktorarbeit abgegeben
wird (oder vielleicht auch schon, wenn sie zum Binden geht ;-))
werde ich mir ein MacBookPro bestellen. Und dann bringe ich
es auch zum Treffen mit. Das kann aber noch so 1-2 Monate dauern
fuerchte ich.

Warte lieber auf die naechste version des MacBook Pro (September/ 
Oktober).
Die aktuellen haben noch ein paar bugs, z.B. faengt manchmal der neue  
Magnet-Anschluss des Netzteils an zu brennen. :)

Hallo ihr!

Da mein alter Rechner gestern mehr oder weniger seinen Geist aufgegeben
hat, habe ich mir heute vormittag ein MacBookPro gekauft. Wenn ich bis
zum naechsten Treffen eine passende Tasche zum Transport habe, bringe
ich es auch mit. Eigentlich wollte ich ja damit warten, bis die Doktorarbeit
fertig war, aber es ging wohl nicht mehr. Heute abend wird es dann aufgesetzt
und vermutlich kommt mit BootCamp auch noch ein XP drauf. Da tendiere ich
zu Home, weil es eh nur zum Spielen (Patrizier II) und ein bisschen Windows
ueben gedacht ist, und Bill Gates moeglichst wenig Taler von mir kriegen soll.

hm, also ich hab von Home bisher nur schlechtes gehört, vor allem
netzwerktechnisch. aber zum zocken sollte das eigendlich reichen. achte nur
darauf, dass es auch eine CD mir Service Pack 2 ist, anderenfalls macht
BootCamp wohl zicken. am "günstigsten" sind afaik die s.g. System Builder
lizenzen. obwohl, ob man 100 bzw. 150 Euro günstig nennen kann?

ansonsten wünsche ich dir viel glück.

Das weiss ich auch, und habe es meinem Freund  schon mitgeteilt.
(Seine Schwester arbeitet bei einem groesseren Computerladen und
kann die vermutlich guenstiger besorgen.)

Ich wollte eine ohne Supportanspruch an Microsoft nehmen (den kann

Dankeschoen. Aber damit werde ich noch ein bisschen warten. Erstmal
alle Daten vom alten Rechner retten. Deswegen fahre ich auch jetzt

Ich habe mich soeben an dieser Mailingliste angemeldet und ich hoffe
das der Apple-Kult hier nicht so extrem ist wie es das Mailarchiv
derzeit ausdrückt ;-)

Ich nutze perl seit >10a für alles was sich mit Shell nicht einfach
erschlagen lässt.

meine Sicht auf perl ist die eines UNIX-Administrators, und mein Motto
dabei ist

Ich arbeite als System Engineer bei einem grossen

kult würde ich das nicht nennen. Judith ist afaik die einzige bei
Bielefeld.pm, die nur Macs hat. Ich selbst habe neben MacOSX auch noch Win32
und Linux im einsatz. auf der arbeit bin ich ausserdem mit Solaris beschäftigt.

nicht so schlimm, ich bin morgen eh nicht da. leider ist zeitlich alles
zusammen gekommen. meine mutter ist im krankenhaus (übler bruch des
sprunggelenks) und meine geschwister sind heute in urlaub gefahren. mir wird
das diese woche halt alles zu viel. nächstes mal bin ich hoffendlich wieder dabei.

Naja, hier in der Uni sitze ich auf Linux, und demnaechst kommt wohl auch noch
ein Windows auf mein neues Spielzeug. Ich habe mir am Samstag Port Royal 2 gekauft,
Patrizier gabs leider nicht. Ausserdem will ich mich ein wenig an Windows gewoehnen,
damit ich wenn ich mal meine Taler verdienen gehe und vor Windows sitze nicht ganz
hilflos bin.

Schade. Naja zuerst mal gute Besserung an deine Mutter, hoffentlich verheilt das
richtig, sonst kann das sehr nervig werden (meine Mutter hatte auch nen Bruch
da, "nur" einer der Knochen ein bisschen kaputt, aber es gab wohl nen massiven
Knorpelschaden und sie kann nicht mehr lange laufen).

Ansonsten waere es ganz gut, wenn sich die anderen melden koennten, ob sie kommen,
sonst sitze ich morgen da noch alleine rum ;-)

Da hatte mein Vater dann wohl recht, dass es jetzt ein neues Modell
geben muss, nachdem ich mir eins gekauft habe ;-)
Naja, 17 Zoll sind mir eh zu gross, wenn man es auch noch durch
die Gegend bewegen will. Aber die 2.16 GHz waeren natuerlich
nett gewesen. Naja, mit dem iPod gings mir ja genauso ;-)

Ich wollte eigentlich kommen. Wir können den Termin aber auch gern
verschieben, z.B. auf nächsten Dienstag. Dann könnte Jürgen teilnehmen und
du könntest dein Book vorführen, fänd ich beides schön, was meint ihr
anderen?

Mir sind beide Termine recht. Wenn naechsten Dienstag mehr Leute kommen koennen,
natuerlich der. Und bis dann habe ich auch eine Huelle, denn ich will
es diesen Samstag zu meinem Freund mitnehmen, dann koennen wir am Sonntag
zu dritt WoW spielen (seine Schwester nutzt seine Flatrate ;-))

oh bitte nicht! ich hab gerade meinen account bei WoW gekündigt. wobei ich
zugeben muss, dass ich WoW gar nicht so schlecht finde. im moment spiele ich
EVE Online und zwei MMORPGs zu spielen macht imho keinen sinn (so viel zeit
habe ich nicht).

Hmmm ... macht doch nix, dann habe ich wenigsten mal jemanden der mit 
EVE-Online erklären kann ;)

Wobei ich echt sagen muss das WoW all das hat was ich an einem 
Computerspiel brauche. Wenn ich was spielen will, dann wird WoW gespielt 
*g* Selbst auf Heroes of Might an Magic 5 freue ich mich nicht mal 
wirklich, obwohl das Jahre lang meine Lieblingsreihe war *grübel*

zuerst noch ein herzliches Willkommen an Cord, soviel Perl und Linux 
Wissen das ist toll.

Sorry, das ich mich nicht eher gemeldet habe, ich war seit Freitag 
unterwegs und hatte vergessen, das der 25. schon der letzte Di war. 
Daher bin ich sehr einverstanden, dass wir uns am 2.5. treffen. :freu:
