I'll give it a try. Compared to most, I think our request for a grant
would be fairly modest.

Great... I'll be interested in hearing what they have to suggest or offer.

As Karen has told you :-) I have been a YAPC before, 2 in fact. As for
not recognising me, well, that's fair enough, I am quite quiet. Rather
amusingly, when I was going to YAPC::Europe::2001 I saw you and Karen in
the airport (we were on the same flight). I thought to myself "I *bet*
those two are going to YAPC". And sure enough, I was right!

Also I think you actually sold me a book in Munich last year at the
auction..... And I was on the same flight as you going out.

Being serious though, I really think having a camel in a balaclava would
be a bad idea. I know YAPCs are more relaxed and casual, but I don't
think that's really any reason to associate YAPC in Belfast with
negative aspects of Northern Ireland. After all, Hitler wasn't on
YAPC::Europe::2002's T-shirt (yes, I know it's a slightly extreme
comparison). I'm not saying we should ignore the negative aspects of our
country, but again, we should be using the conference to promote NI, not
remind people of our troubled past and present.

Probably, yes. But as I'm in a bad job and my self-employment interests
aren't going too well at the minute I'm not 100% sure.
