APM: Christmas Party Report, 2015 Meetings Day/Time Change

Seasons Greetings Dear Mongers,
At our annual Austin.pm Christmas Party we discussed a wide variety of
topics, including our upcoming and exciting new website!
Monger Joe Axford and I have completed installation of the Shiny CMS
software on our new Host Gator server, so the next steps are to think
about what categories of content we want on the website and choose a
fitting HTML/CSS/JS template, which we will then convert into a Shiny
theme using Template Toolkit.
So far we potentially want to have the following pages and/or features
on our new website:
- Home Page: salamander mascot "Bart" on a welcome slider splash
screen- Software Projects: info about CPAN modules adopted and created
by Austin.pm- Blogs: posts for all ongoing Austin.pm events, meetings,
trainings, etc.- Job Board: posts for all Perl jobs offered and jobs
wanted in the greater Austin area- Member Pages: all active Mongers
get Shiny accounts with their own custom page, blog, etc.- Forums: for
discussing Perl and related topics- Mascot: a whole section just for
our cool salamander mascot Bart- Multimedia: music & movies like Joe
playing guitar & salamander hunting at Barton springs- Store: official
Austin.pm & salamander Bart swag like t-shirts, bumper stickers,
coffee mugs, etc.

high-tech, and fitting to our proposed content.
PLEASE NOTE!  Starting in 2015, all meetings will be changed from
Tuesday at 6:30pm to Thursday at 7:00pm, and the locations will stay
the same.
So, our next business meeting will be Thursday, January 15 at 7:00pm,
located at HostGator offices, at which time we will finalize our
website plans and enjoy free pizza thanks to our awesome sponsor!
