Hey everyone,

I'm currently looking to hire someone for a mid-level programmer position
for the Reporting & Decision Support Systems Team in the IT department at
Whole Foods Market.  A quick job description is below:

Programmer Analyst – Central IT Reporting & Decision Support Systems Team
TX - National Office, Austin (CEN)
Starting Date: 9/26/2007

Will Do:
- Application interface/integration development, testing, and deployment
- Gather business requirements and develop specifications for automated
and ad hoc reports
- Gather and analyze data from multiple data warehouse and transactional
data systems for both automated and ad-hoc reports
- Develop thorough understanding of data systems and data relationships
- Partner with IT peers and business partners to design new reports and
reporting systems and troubleshoot design and/or technical issues and
processes with existing systems
- Mentor junior team members in the processes, methods and techniques of
IT and project management.
- Provide User support.
- Participate in an on-call technical support rotation that includes
twenty-four hour / seven day a week: Levels I, II & III support coverage
for WFM reporting systems.
- Work as an integral member of a cohesive team

Must Have/Be:
- 2-5 years of experience with retail data and/or decision support systems
and processes.
- Windows 2000/XP, Unix, Linux operating systems experience
- Strong SQL database skills and experience with Oracle and / or Teradata
databases
- Experience with Perl, VB and/or Java a plus
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills.
- An understanding of systems architecture, change control, versioning,
and environment management.
- An understanding of databases, tables, and data structures.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Independently manage time effectively.
- Ability to work closely within a team environment.
- Experience implementing and maintaining applications in a multi-tier
environment
- Experience with multiple business areas relating to IT and the retail
business
- Patience, understanding, flexibility and a sense of humor are required.
- Ability to travel approximately 10-20%

Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience with one or
all of the following:
- Experience working with multiple database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server,
Teradata, etc.)
- Experience with using or implementing reporting solutions using object
based reporting packages Business Objects, MicroStrategy, SAS, etc.)
- Experience with using or implementing pricing strategy analysis and
elasticity modeling applications
- Experience in the Retail/Grocery Industry
