I'll try and be succinct.

1. Welcome! :)
2. We have a meeting this month (as does did Amsterdam.pm, as Tux noted),
you're more than welcome to join either (or hopefully both!) :)
3. If you're interested in a social, all you need do is ask, and one will
probably be arranged. However, I think a PM meeting is easier.
4. As for rental, I would check Funda.nl and Pararius.nl.
