We're going out to tour Victory in the first and awesomest of our future long-standing tradition of brewery tours. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Meet at Whitey's at North and Linden streets in Bethlehem, September 12, 9:15. Depart for brewery at 10:00. Arrive 11:45. Tour at noon. Drink and eat until satisfied. Go home. DETAILS: The tour is Saturday, September 12, at noon. We're going to shoot to arrive around 11:45. If Google is to be trusted, it will probably take us about 90 minutes. Also, I've been told that finding the exact location of the brewery and its parking can be a pain. So, let's say we have to leave Bethlehem at 10. We'll shoot for breakfast around 9:15 at Whitey's. Whitey's is at the corner of North and Linden -- it's just about a half block south of Machts Gute, on the same street. Since it's a busy breakfast place with very limited room, if you get there early, you can't just walk in and wait. Wait outside. I won't go in until at least one or two other people show up. Faber, you said you won't be there until 9:30. No problem, we certainly won't be gone by then. You know where to meet us. I'm expecting at least: Tom, Ted, Faber, Rik. We will all fit in Tom's van. If you want to leave your car near my house for an extended period, I will look at getting a parking pass. It costs nothing. I will need your make/model/color/plate. Tom said he could carry five passengers, so I'm going to we're safe for the likely maximum additional amount. I'm not sure who else that would be: Scott? Kip? Paul? Any questions? -- rjbs From waltman at pobox.com Wed Sep 9 08:13:42 2009 From: waltman at pobox.com (Walt Mankowski) Date: Wed, 9 Sep 2009 11:13:42 -0400 Subject: [ABE.pm] Victory Beer Finalization In-Reply-To: <20090906191007.GA29572@cancer.codesimply.com> References: <20090906191007.GA29572@cancer.codesimply.com> Message-ID: <20090909151342.GA7743@mawode.com> On Sun, Sep 06, 2009 at 03:10:07PM -0400, Ricardo Signes wrote: > Also, I've been told that finding the exact location of the brewery > and its parking can be a pain. Just to clarify that -- finding the exact location is relatively straightforward. Just following the directions of your favorite mapping software should suffice. It's a bit further off Lancaster Ave. than you might think, but no big deal. The only tricky part is knowing that you've made it. When you turn off Chestnut onto Acorn and arrive at 420 Acorn Ln. all you'll see is a suburban office park called the Downingtown Tech Center. Just pull into the parking lot. The brewpub is in the back right corner. There should be plenty of off-street parking. Unless you're really into Disney/Pixar or classic Tom & Jerry cartoons, bring something you want to watch. -Tom On Sun, Sep 6, 2009 at 3:10 PM, Ricardo Signes wrote: > > I'm expecting at least: Tom, Ted, Faber, Rik.
